Is Earth okay?  A deep dive into waste  Have you ever wondered what happens to our garbage or where do the clothes we donate go? These are questions I can answer!  Waste is a word that we are familiar with. We are often told the importance of recycling, how we shouldn't litter and how we should try to take care of our planet. Every single year the united states alone waste around 60 million tons of food, 35 million tons of hazardous waste, and 268 million tons of trash. Looking at this issue on a bigger scale  globally we produce 2.12 billion tons of waste. Most of this waste is found in poor countries.  In this article we will explore the following What factors influenced the rapid increase of waste world wide -overconsumption/green washing  -poor waste management Where does waste end up -landfills -other countries What can we do to help -waste education  -consumption habits

Book 1 post

The book I chose is American Like Me, edited by American Ferrera. I was intrigued by its structure. The book is a compilation of essays from the perspectives of children of immigrant parents and people who migrated as children and young adults. It will be interesting to see how they define being an American. I also look forward to seeing the similarities and differences between the people in this book. Like many people in this book, I also wondered what it meant to be American. I migrated to the USA when I was 9, and I often thought about what it meant to be American. Did this mean that I had to choose one culture over another? Or was there a way to find a good balance between both cultures? To this day, I still find myself wondering if I’m American enough. I hope to see how these people found their identity and integrated their culture into the American culture.

Job description

Summer Camp Consultant When I started school, I knew I wanted to look into consulting. I wanted to know what they liked and disliked about their camps. We also saw how living arrangements varied between camps. The way they were structured made me evaluate the best accommodations for the future children in our camp.   As a consultant, three things were important to me. Adaptabi...

Where do I come from? I was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to New York City when I was a child. I was raised on a beautiful island where people are always welcoming and cheerful. A collectivist society, unlike the USA. It took me some time to get used to how individualistic people are. However, I'm still a collectivist at heart with some individualistic tendencies.    Where am I going? After I graduate I plan to go back to NYC and find a job. Then pursue my masters later on in my career. Will eventually go back to DR when I'm older.     How do I plan to get there? I plan to work hard in order to be able to accomplish my future goals.    How am I like my parents?  I always look at the bright side of things like my mother. We also have similar personalities, we care deeply about those who are close to us. On the other hand, I have learned to always be hard-working like my dad. We have a similar way of handling conflict.  How am I different...
